About Melissa Jean

Melissa Denzer is a dramaturg, novelist, poet, academic, and Midwest-based artist. Her work explores existentialism, trauma, healing, feminism, and the reclamation of identity. Melissa holds a B.A. with Honors in English, Theatre Arts, and Nonprofits, an M.A. in Theater Arts, and an MFA in Creative Writing. Melissa's work in arts programming and university advancement has bridged her passion for storytelling and community engagement. This has allowed her to combine her passions to further develop her career. While in her MFA, she completed her manuscript for her debut mystery novel, with aspirations for publication after continued revisions in 2025.
